TrueVisit vs Plausible
Plausible does bot filtering properly on its paid cloud tier. The differences that matter are what happens to the filtered traffic, and whether AI crawlers are visible at all.

The short answer
If you want clean, privacy friendly general analytics, Plausible is a good product and we will not pretend otherwise. Choose TrueVisit when the bot traffic itself is the thing you need to see, name, attribute to a source, and act on.
Plausible filters bots, and does it well
Plausible's cloud product filters in four ways: user agent matching, a referrer spam blocklist, roughly 32,000 excluded data center IP ranges, and behavioral analysis. Checked August 22, 2026.
Their self hosted Community Edition ships only the first two. A developer who self hosted it in 2026 documented the result: a site with about 200 real daily visitors began showing spikes above 5,000. That is the same signal that motivated this product, and it is worth reading before you self host anything.

- A far broader analytics product: goals, funnels, revenue, scroll depth, and Search Console integration.
- Years of production history, a public track record, and an open source edition you can inspect and run yourself.
- More distribution paths, including a WordPress plugin, Google Tag Manager, and an npm package.
- A public API surface that is wider than ours.
The honest caveat about us
TrueVisit is new. Plausible has years of production data behind its filtering and we do not. What we offer instead is that every verdict shows its evidence, so you can audit our judgement rather than trust it.
